When my friend and colleague, Vinh Nguyen, asked me to do a little trail running shoot last summer, I was down for it. I was fresh off the Squamish 50 and a little recovery run in the forest wasn’t a bad idea. We went to Pacific Spirit Park, stepped out of my comfort zone and in front of the camera. I still feel weird seeing myself on video but Vinh did such a great job with the camerawork and editing that I’m so proud to share this little vignette. It shows me in my happy place. I may not be the fastest runner out there but I’m very ambitious and try to accomplish what I set out to do, in any way I can. It just takes a little longer for me to get there, that’s all 😛

Vinh and his team make up Vindaloo Creative. They are a full service digital agency providing photography, web design and of course video work. See their portfolio on Instagram and Vimeo for the time being, as their website is still under construction. They do amazing work. I know, because I’ve worked with them for years in my other life. Thanks Vinh for making me look so cool.

How are you in front of the camera? Are you shy like me? Would you ever get a video of yourself done like this? Tell me in the comments below!
