Just Signed Up: Rock n Roll San Francisco Half Marathon

San Francisco has been on my list of places to visit for some time now. Like most people my age, it was on my tv set every day when I watched Full House so visions of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Painted Ladies are fresh in my mind. I thought this was the year to check it out and conveniently, there is a Rock n Roll race there. I very much enjoyed my previous Rock n Roll experiences in Las Vegas and in Vancouver (now defunct) so it was a no-brainer to sign up for this event.

UPDATE: New Course for 2018

Just released today (January 26, 2018) is the new Rock n Roll San Francisco Half Marathon course. It starts at Pier 39 and ends near Ghirardelli Square. I hope they’ll be releasing an updated elevation map. I guess researching isn’t going to help me with a race strategy this year since it’ll be new for everyone.

New 2018 course

This is going to be a fun weekend. I’ll be heading out there with fellow BibRave Pro Amanda and hopefully meeting up with another BibRave Pro Janelle. My time in San Francisco will be limited but rest assured, I will be making the most of my time there. The race itself will act as a tour of the city but I’ll be checking out some other sights like Lombard Street, Chinatown, and Fisherman’s Wharf. I don’t think I’ll have time to go to Alcatraz so I’ll leave that for another SF trip.I look forward to checking this off my travel to-do list! Just over two months until race day!

If you sign up for this race or any other race, don’t forget to add it to your Upcoming Races on Athlinks. For more information on Athlinks, check out this blog post.
